A software token is a type of Two Factor Authentication (2FA) that provides additional security for your account by requiring both your password and a random token number for access. The random token number is dependant on a private key file that is generated for you. The token number changes every 15 minutes, making it impossible for others to eavesdrop and/or guess your access information.
PSMail provides software based tokens for both Microsoft Windows and Macintosh users. The software token application is included with every PSMail subscription and can be installed on your machine free of charge. Every time you access your account, this application will provide you with a unique random token to be used in addition to your password. This additional security ensures your privacy and security with little complication; it's simple and easy to use.
The steps and screenshots below explain how to set up a software token.
Step 1: Login to your PSMail account and click on Manage Account in the left hand sidebar. Then click Software Token Setup.
Step 2: The first time you visit this window, click on Create or Update your pin number. Choose a pin number that you can remember and then click Submit.
Step 3: Once your pin number is registered, click Download Software token. This will include both the software and the private key needed for your account access.
When you have downloaded the software token application, open the zipped file. It will contain two files as shown below.

Step 4: Every time you want to log in, simply run the application called skey, and it will provide you with a random token access code.

When you want to access your account, login with your token at https://mail.psmail.net/token/. See the sample page below. Enter your token and your pin number to securely access your PSMail account.
